Škoda previews two sketches of the new Karoq ahead of its official presentation

The new Karoq is only a few days away from being unveiled to the public, and Škoda wants to ease the wait by previewing some sketches of what is in store

Like practically every Škoda brand model, it jumped on the SUV bandwagon with the Kodiaq, a large SUV with up to 7 seats, which was later joined in the Czech brand’s lineup by the Karoq, its smaller sibling that reached the market in 2017 and has enjoyed well-deserved success, backed by its sales, which have kept on rising steadily ever since.

After four years on the market, the Škoda Karoq has reached the end of its generation and is very close to its major facelift, a renewal that, as it could not be otherwise, will follow in the footsteps of the also renewed Kodiaq, which kicked off its sales just before the start of last summer. Now, ahead of its official presentation, Škoda gives us a preview of sketches of the new Karoq, in which we can glimpse its refreshed design.

If we look at these images, we will see how the new Karoq shares many similarities with the Kodiaq, something present, for example, in the new bumper, whose lower section features a single air intake running from one side to the other, with prominent trim at its ends. If we look a little higher, we will see the new hexagonal grille, which incorporates a new double-slat grille that gives it a greater presence, accompanied by the new LED headlights with a fresh design for the daytime running lights. It is worth noting that depending on the trim chosen, its look will be different when the lights are on, creating a distinctive light signature for this model.

Judging by the sketches, its side profile will not differ much from the current model, although the black lower side trim may disappear to become the same colour as the rest of the bodywork. At the rear, changes also occur, affecting first of all a larger new spoiler, and then new headlights that, although they keep their characteristic “C”-shaped graphic, feature a new overall design that will further accentuate the width of the new Karoq; finally, a new diffuser in a black finish that integrates the exhaust outlets.

Škoda has not previewed any images or data of the new Karoq’s interior, but we can imagine a new design accompanied by new technologies, such as an update to the infotainment system, now with better performance and the latest advances in safety and driver assistance systems. No changes are expected mechanically, at least as far as the engines used are concerned, although these will surely be updated to meet the latest emissions regulations.

Stay tuned for more details about the new Škoda Karoq, as it will be presented in the coming days, specifically on 30 November online.
