Škoda shows us a preview of the new 100% electric Elroq
We already have the first images of the exterior design of the new compact SUV from the Czech brand, which will be presented this autumn and is built on Volkswagen’s MEB platform

Škoda Auto has unveiled its latest innovation in the compact SUV segment: the Škoda Elroq, a vehicle that comes in a fully electric version and is the first to feature the new Modern Solid design language. With its world premiere planned for autumn 2024, the Elroq is just the beginning of a new electrification campaign that is yet to come from Škoda, which plans to launch six fully electric models in the coming years.
The first of many: Modern Solid
The exterior design of the Škoda Elroq reflects a modern, solid aesthetic, marked by clean lines and sharp contours. The first official image reveals a silhouette that conveys a sense of safety and strength, essential qualities in the SUV segment. The front of the Elroq features the distinctive “Tech-Deck Face“, a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional Škoda grille, which is now flatter and wider. This design is complemented by split headlights and Matrix LED, and for the first time, the Škoda letters appear on the bonnet.

The Elroq measures approximately 4.5 metres in length, positioning it as a direct rival to models such as the Renault Scenic and the Nissan Ariya.
Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform
The Škoda Elroq will be built on the Group’s Volkswagen modular electric drive matrix (MEB) platform, an architecture already proven in earlier models such as the Enyaq and the Enyaq Coupé. This platform not only allows a flexible and efficient electric powertrain configuration, but also offers a spacious and adaptable interior, providing all occupants with comfort and practicality, as well as a comfortable and quiet driving experience.

Six new electric models
The launch of the Elroq is only the first step in a broader Škoda strategy to consolidate its presence in the electric vehicle market. The brand has announced that, in addition to the Elroq, it will introduce five other electric models in the coming years. This initiative is part of a wider effort by the Volkswagen Group to lead the transition to electric mobility, driving both technological innovation and environmental commitment.
A strong competitor in the compact SUV segment
With the Elroq, Škoda strategically positions itself in the competitive compact electric SUV market. The combination of a distinctive design, advanced technology and a proven platform promises to attract a wide range of consumers, from technology enthusiasts to families looking for a practical and sustainable vehicle.

The Elroq will not only expand Škoda’s offering in the electric vehicle segment, but will also strengthen its reputation as an innovative, future-oriented brand. With its launch in autumn 2024, the Škoda Elroq is set to become a benchmark in the compact electric SUV market, making life even harder for its competitors.
