Rapid Skoda Sedans Range / versions
Small updates for the Sköda Rapid
Sköda is these days presenting a series of new features for the Rapid range. A new engine based on the 1.6 TDI with 90 CV that becomes the most affordable diesel-powered alternative. Xenon headlights and an updated sound system are also incorporated.

The most affordable saloon from the Czech manufacturer is getting ready with a new engine and equipment variations, which complete an offer of carefully calculated and logical cost rather than passion.
Ahead of 2014, the Sköda Rapid adds to its engine range the 1.6 TDI of 90 CV already known within the VW group, as well as a new xenon lighting system, which will help it stand out from the competition.
Regarding the new engine, it is a version of the 1.6 TDI of 105 CV, whose power has been limited to offer one point less performance but one point more economy and ecology.
With a maximum power of 90 CV, turbocharger, direct injection and common rail, it will be offered optionally in combination with the GreenTec eco package, which will allow it to homologate consumption of 3.9 litres per 100 km with emissions of 104 g/km.

Other improvements to the Rapid concern its equipment. One of the new features is the arrival of xenon headlights, with an output of 2000 lumens. Although on paper this does not seem a very large figure, the brand claims that its lighting capacity is very similar to other systems with greater power, with the advantage that, due to its luminous flux not exceeding 2000 lumens, they need no headlight washer device nor automatic height adjuster.
In addition, the most affordable Sköda saloon debuts slight improvements such as a new 3-spoke steering wheel or a sound system whose finish and handling have been improved.
