Some details of the Volkswagen Scirocco R

The new high-performance Scirocco was seen last year as a concept at the Bologna Show, and as expected it didn’t take long to reach production.
The Scirocco R is equipped with a new version of the 2.0L engine used in the Golf GTI V, which features higher turbocharger boost pressure as well as other modifications that help it increase its power to 265 CV and 235 Nm of torque.
The small sports car will use a six-speed manual gearbox; however, an optional semi-automatic dual-clutch DSG could also be purchased.
VW decided to use a front-wheel-drive system to implement its new XDS electronic differential in the car, with the aim of improving handling and helping to keep the weight at 1,330 kg.
According to the German company, the new Scirocco is capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of 250 km/h, so it has nothing to envy the Golf R32.
The exterior receives small changes that allow the car to stand out from its siblings; first, wide intakes can be seen in the front bumper, LED daytime running lights, side skirts, a new grille, a roof spoiler, a new rear bumper and fog lights at the rear.
The most notable feature inside, apart from the sport seats, is the flat-bottomed steering wheel, on whose lower part the R logo of the car is harmoniously displayed.
The Scirocco R is scheduled to arrive at showrooms in September, and shortly afterwards its sales will begin in Europe.
