SpaceX's Starship could make its first flight in April

SpaceX, the ambitious space company of billionaire Elon Musk, has announced that its Starship could make its first journey in March or even April.

The one who revealed this very positive news for the leading company in space exploration was Elon Musk himself. In his own words, he expects the ship to start flying in March or April at the latest.

The flight it will make will be a test flight, so the goal is a suborbital trajectory, that is, a short-distance flight similar to the one the Falcon 9 rockets made in their early development phases.

Elon Musk and Chief Operating Officer Gwynne Shotwell had set the goal of carrying out flights with the ship by the end of 2019, and given the advances made in recent months, it can be said that they have been a complete success, given the speed with which the objectives have been achieved.

The next question now is when the first complete test flight of the ship will take place, something that, according to the most optimistic estimates, will not happen until 2020, although, of course, given how things have gone, these plans could come forward.

Starship represents a significant step forward compared with the Falcon 9. The aim of these spacecraft is to offer the experience of visiting space in the most affordable way possible.

SpaceX therefore wants to offer anyone the opportunity to go to space and, with the progress and conclusions drawn from Starship, to get ever closer to the ambitious goal of taking humans to Mars.

As ambitious and surreal as it may seem, Elon Musk appears convinced he can offer tourist trips to Mars by 2050. Although it could be a realistic goal, the truth is that in the space race there are too many factors to take into account, and it is most likely that this project will not be carried out on the proposed dates.
