Spanish manufacturer Irizar will have a new facility in the United Kingdom
Irizar has become one of the most successful electric bus manufacturers in Europe, with the United Kingdom being one of its main markets.
Spanish commercial vehicle manufacturer Irizar has revealed at the Euro Bus Expo, currently taking place in Birmingham, its intention to open a new facility in the United Kingdom, which will be located near the town of Blyth, in the north of Nottinghamshire. The opening of these new premises, scheduled for the last quarter of next year, represents a major step forward for the company, which has built a reputation over recent years in Europe, particularly in the electric bus market.
With its sights set on the United Kingdom
Irizar’s intention to open a new facility in the United Kingdom is not, however, a recent development. The company had been working on this idea for some time, but economic uncertainty stemming from Brexit and the pandemic temporarily shelved the project.

Irizar’s new UK facility will occupy around 16,000 square metres and will include not only administrative offices, but also a showroom, dedicated spaces for bus delivery, and a large parking area for this type of vehicle. This project reflects not only Irizar’s confidence in the British market, but also its commitment to electric mobility, in the face of continuously growing demand for Zero Emission buses.
“We have reached a crucial stage in the evolution of our business, and investing in our own facilities will give us the capacity needed to further strengthen our position in the British market.”

In addition to making this announcement at the Euro Bus Expo in Birmingham, the Spanish manufacturer is showcasing three of its most recent models to attendees, among them the Irizar ie tram electric bus. Through all of these initiatives, Irizar not only seeks to consolidate its presence in the United Kingdom, but also to actively contribute to the development of more sustainable transport solutions in response to the current needs of the European electric bus market.
