Special Test: Honda CR-V on the road through the Alps

Yesterday the most important European motor show of the year closed its doors: the Geneva Motor Show 2012 closed to the general public. We have told you everything about the show through our special coverage, where you could follow us not only on the website but also on Twitter and Facebook.

We will return with the same coverage for the Paris Motor Show at the end of the year, but in the meantime we want to share a special test with you. We would like to thank Honda for making possible the test of the CR-V around the Alps, which was also our transport to Geneva.

Over the coming week we want you to enjoy this test of the Honda CR-V, a crossover that has proven very effective in snowy areas, and at the same time we want to suggest places to visit, to learn a little more about the villages near Mont Blanc, and to enjoy the photo gallery without having to leave home.

We have divided the test into several stages. The first one starts in Geneva, and from the Swiss city we travel along the lake, discovering the villages on the French side with places as interesting as Yvoire, a medieval village on the shores of the lake. The second stage we have dedicated to Chamonix, a town at the foot of Mont Blanc and a meeting place for skiers and lovers of winter sports. To finish, we return from Mont Blanc to Barcelona, with a stop in Grenoble and Avignon.

During the test we encountered numerous mountain roads covered in snow (with considerable depth). We also took the CR-V off the main roads to test its performance in snow, and it also drove on French national roads, through villages and cities (where it faced Geneva traffic), all in an interesting test of a car that stands out for its space and smooth engine.

Tomorrow we will publish the first stage of this test of the Honda CR-V, a model whose days on the market are numbered ahead of the arrival of the new generation, but which is very interesting in terms of price and capabilities.
