Spotted the MG 550 on Spanish soil

It seems that Sierra Nevada is where some upcoming automotive news is being concentrated. A few months ago a reader (Eduardo) sent us spy photos of several BMW spotted in Sierra Nevada. Now a reader of Autoblog has sent several photos of the MG 550, with the front end covered.

As we can see in the photos, the versions that reach the old continent will feature some changes to the grille and fog lights. The European launch of the MG is expected in 2010, if forecasts hold, and the SsangYong dealership network (currently run by the Bergé Group) would be used to sell the MG models.

For now we can only wait for the dates to be confirmed, and we don’t know the engine range that will equip the new MG sold in Europe. In China, the MG 550 is sold with the 1.8 and 1.8 T engines producing 133 and 160 CV respectively. We will also have to wait to find out the build quality of the new MG, but it will certainly be above what is usually seen in China.
