Spy photos of the interior and rear of the new Saab 9-5
The new Saab 9-5 is generating quite a buzz, and so far information about Saab’s flagship has been trickling out little by little. This time, though, we bring you images of the interior and rear of the model, which Carscoop has managed to obtain.
The most striking thing about the interior is that it features a new design, more modern and with room for more technology. A centre console that, as the images show, moves away from Saab’s typical simple console and keeps the classic design only in the air vents.
As for the exterior, a significant change also seems to be on the way. The rear photo already gives us a glimpse of the new design, which will feature rear lights with LED lighting and a more coupé-like shape than the current model. Moreover, the new Saab 9-5 is built on the Epsilon II platform, the same chassis that underpins the Insignia.
There is no doubt that fresh winds are blowing for the Swedish brand, which is not going through its best moment. Let us hope the new Saab 9-5 can give the brand some breathing room and refresh it a little with more up-to-date models to compete in the market. The unveiling of the new Saab 9-5 could take place in 2010 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
