Stelvio is graduating into the Guardia Civil
The General Directorate of the Guardia Civil has added 62 units of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio to the Corps’ official fleet to carry out its regular service,

The Guardia Civil has just added a fleet of 62 Alfa Romeo Stelvio 2.0 Petrol 200 CV Q4 Automatic patrol vehicles to its fleet. The Italian brand bid for this contract and was chosen after fierce competition from other brands that also wanted their SUVs to become part of this Spanish security force.
Finally, the technical specifications of this model were highlighted, along with the economic terms offered by the Italian company. All of this weighed on the final decision, and the 62 units, suitably prepared for service, now become part of the Corps’ official fleet.

Ready for service
All units of this model have been painted in the colours of the Guardia Civil and fitted with emergency lights and the equipment typical of a patrol car. The Italian SUV has a four-cylinder 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 200 CV, more than enough to meet all the demands of the service. It also complies with Euro 6D Final emissions standards, so it respects current regulations, especially in town.
Engine power is delivered to the wheels thanks to the eight-speed Q4 automatic gearbox. It is also ready for off-road journeys, thanks to the active transfer case used by the Q4 traction system. It also includes a front differential that provides the versatility needed for any terrain, however rugged.
The Q4 system continuously monitors several parameters to ensure the best torque distribution between the two axles, depending on how the vehicle is being used and the grip available on the road. There is also the AlfaTM DNA drive mode selector. The “Advanced Efficiency” programme is also available, acting on the engine torque curve, the braking system through the Pre-Fill device, gear-shift logic, throttle response, the ESC stability control system and ASR traction control, to ensure maximum traction capability.
As an SUV from the Premium range, officers will be able to count on AFS adaptive Bi-Xenon headlights, a lane departure warning system, and a rear-view camera with front and rear parking sensors. A welcome addition for Guardia Civil patrols that will soon be seen on the roads and city streets where the Benemérita provides its service.
