The German vehicle supervisory and inspection body, TÜV Rheinland, has produced an annual report on the vehicles that have had the fewest faults in technical inspections.

In the “four to five years old” category, the Subaru Forester placed third, behind the Porsche Boxer and the Porsche 911, as the vehicles with the fewest faults. For this report, 7,702,477 vehicles of 201 models were checked between July 2007 and June 2008.

Furthermore, the Forester in the different categories is below the average fault rate. In the “six to seven years old” category it ranks third, in the “eight to nine years old” range it ranks sixth, and in the “two to three years” category it ranks seventh.
