Suzuki Ignis 2020, a compact SUV made for enjoying the city with Mild-Hybrid engine

The new generation of the Suzuki Ignis, which will go on sale next spring, that is, within a few weeks, has already been revealed. The new generation of the Suzuki Ignis will bring several updates. Among them, aesthetic changes and better equipment to bring the model closer to the tastes of buyers in the new decade.

Aesthetically, the SUV look has been improved, with a higher driving position and more comfortable. The exterior will offer three new colours: Pearl Ivory, Metallic Yellow and Khaki Green. They can also be paired with a black roof for contrast with the body colour.

One of those changes comes from the 1.2 Dualjet engine, which has had its injection system modified along with other small changes that make driving more pleasant and comfortable. In addition, this engine is offered in a Mild-Hybrid version, so it benefits from a 12-volt light hybrid system, which earns it the DGT ECO label in all its versions.

This light hybrid system works with a lithium-ion battery and an ISG generator that provides assistance during acceleration at certain moments. The battery is charged through regenerative braking and delivers the extra power that makes the difference when that additional push is needed.

The robotised transmission has been replaced by a CVT automatic gearbox. There are two types of transmission: one that sends all the power to the front axle and a second with All Grip all-wheel drive, which offers better performance. Inside, the Suzuki Ignis will have a new multimedia system with a more practical screen.

Depending on the market the model is aimed at, it will have different extras. Among these you can find LED lights, an intelligent traffic sign reader, pre-collision warning, reversing camera and other options so that the driver of this car can fully enjoy the experience of driving a car that offers more than its predecessor. For now, there is no price for this new Suzuki Ignis, so we will have to wait a little to find out.
