TATA Punch, everything we know about the new small SUV from the Indian brand

The TATA Punch is a small SUV about four metres long that will become the flagship of the Indian brand.

TATA Motors is expanding its range, and just a few days ago we introduced you to the electric TATA Tigor; today it’s the turn of the TATA Punch. This small SUV could become one of the flagships of the Indian brand, as it has all the ingredients to be one: an affordable price, reliable engines and a very attractive design.

We have seen the first image of this new small SUV and it has really caught our attention. The new TATA Punch will be built on the lightweight platform called ALFA-ARC, the same one that underpins the TATA Altroz. At first glance, the new TATA SUV offers a fresh yet aggressive design. The model exudes dynamism and a very distinctive off-road touch. It is worth noting that this small SUV follows in the footsteps of the TATA HBX concept.

Everything we know about the new TATA Punch

Initially, the new TATA Punch will be fitted with the recently launched 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, capable of delivering 110 CV. This powertrain is paired with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a five-speed automated manual gearbox.

So far we have not been able to see the interior details of the new TATA Punch, but it is very likely that it will closely resemble that of the TATA Altroz, where the touchscreen of the infotainment system is raised so that all passengers can have a good view. The controls look very practical and, although it is a small SUV with a length of about four metres, its aim is to offer very good interior space so that passengers can enjoy their journeys and their everyday use in comfort.
