Teaser! The Seat Tarraco makes an appearance for a lucky few
The Seat Tarraco will become the largest SUV from the Spanish brand and will reach the market towards the end of the year.
Remember the car whose name was chosen by popular vote? The Seat Tarraco will be officially presented on 18 September, but before that, the Spanish brand has wanted to get us excited with an event aimed at several enthusiasts as a teaser. Ten people have been invited to the Seat facilities in Martorell to offer them a preview of what the largest SUV from the Iberian brand will be like. The amazement of these fans from the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany and Spain is hard to hide.

Tarraco, which means Tarragona in Latin, is the first name of a SEAT model chosen by popular vote. More than 146,000 followers took part in the final phase of the initiative #SEATbuscaNombre.
An SUV with up to seven seats
The largest SUV in the SEAT range will be available with up to seven seats and will sit above the Arona (urban crossover) and the Ateca (compact SUV). As many of you will have imagined, the dimensions of the Tarraco will be very similar to those of its close relative, the Skoda Kodiaq, which means it will compete in a segment that includes cars such as the Hyundai Santa Fe, the Renault Koleos or the Nissan X-Trail, among others.

Inside the cabin, no great novelties are expected compared with its smaller siblings (Ateca or Arona). The steering wheel will be borrowed from the Seat Ateca, and the “floating” style infotainment system and the digital Cockpit will be the same as those Seat has accustomed us to.
Engines
In the first months of sale, the Seat Tarraco will have two petrol engines: a 1.4-litre unit and a 2.0-litre unit, each with two power options. The diesel offering, meanwhile, will consist of three versions of the 2.0 TDI engine. In the future, the SUV is expected to receive an electrified variant.
The car will be presented on 18 September in Tarragona, and its market launch is expected towards the end of the year.
