Tesla allows remote access to your car's cameras via your phone
Sentry Mode lets you record what happens around your Tesla, but with the latest software update you can also view it through your phone.

The Sentry system fitted to Tesla models allows the area around the car to be recorded. In this way, the system’s cameras record everything that happens around the vehicle. If there is any problem or an attempt to damage the car, this is logged and it is possible to determine what happened. But now, with the brand’s new software update, these recordings can be viewed on the mobile phone screen.
The Live remote access to the Sentry Mode cameras allows the user to see, in the mobile app, the images captured live by the car’s security system cameras. In this way, if any alert is triggered, the user can check what is happening in real time and act accordingly.

The most interesting part is that the system will allow the Tesla’s external speaker to broadcast a message remotely. With this addition, anyone near the car can be warned that they are being recorded and that they can be identified. All of this is restricted to those who have updated the autonomous driving hardware system to version 2.5 from the company.

In addition, the app must be up to date and the owner must have subscribed to the Tesla Premium Connectivity Service package. This costs 10 euros a month and allows the use of several of the vehicle’s connected features. The functions of this system will also make it possible to retrieve the recordings made by the Sentry system and stored in the car, review them on the phone and even save them to it.
For the time being, there is no time limit on using this feature. However, several sources suggest that this will be limited in the future, with a maximum daily time. For example, access may only be available for X hours a day, and it will not be possible to use it again until 24 hours have passed.
For the moment, it is a good addition to the security of your Tesla, ensuring the owner always knows the status of their vehicle.
