The unveiling of the new electric truck from Tesla was scheduled for 26 October in California. Now Elon Musk himself has announced that the reveal of this new model has been pushed back to 16 November.

The truck launch, called the Tesla Semi Truck, has been postponed for the second time this year. Musk initially confirmed that the truck would be revealed in September, but later rescheduled it for late October.

Through the social network Twitter, the company’s chief executive made it clear that Tesla will divert its attention to the resources needed to increase production of the Model 3 and its batteries, and to its intention to help Puerto Rico restore the power grid with solar panels. Musk confirmed that Tesla will install solar panels that “will allow Puerto Rico to move away from fossil fuel electricity”.

Elon Musk intends to help Puerto Rico restore the power grid with solar panels. Musk’s decision comes after the delivery delays the American brand is experiencing with the Model 3. In the director’s own words, “we are in production hell”. During the first quarter, Tesla built only 260 cars, a far lower figure than the 1,500 it had planned to produce.

Although the launch of the company’s new 100% electric truck has been postponed, Tesla confirmed that its design has been finalised and that a teaser has even been seen. “The technical specifications are better than any other model so far. The design and engineering teams have done a very good job,” Elon Musk wrote on Twitter.

Tesla has not given many details about its next electric truck, but Elon Musk himself assured that it will have AutoPilot technology and a range of between 320 and 480 kilometres on a single charge. We will have to wait until 16 November to see whether we can finally learn the details of the new Tesla Semi Truck.
