The Acura NSX 4-EV Motor Concept is ready to tackle the Pikes Peak with its electric motors
Honda has prepared a version of the Acura NSX with four electric motors, which will take part in the Pikes Peak climb 2016, to be held on 26 June, and which will feature other models from the Japanese brand that will also compete in the demanding event

The Acura NSX is one of the most striking cars we have seen to come out of Honda’s factory. We have already seen the GT3 version of the NSX, and now comes a version that will be powered by electricity and driven by four motors that will allow it to take part in the Pikes Peak climb, the demanding American event that puts electric cars to the test with a considerable challenge.
Each of these motors is located at one of the wheels and allows all the power produced to be transmitted to each of them. In this way, the Acura NSX 4-EV Motor Concept manages to offer three times the power of the previous version, which used two motors. This motorization system is called Electric Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive and can be seen in action on 26 June. The four motors deliver a total output of more than 1,000 CV and will require Japanese driver Tetsuya Yamano to make full use of all his skill.
The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 2016 is held, as every year, in Colorado. It is a race along a natural 19.99-kilometre course with 156 corners. The drivers of the participating cars climb up to 4,303 metres above sea level, the altitude of the highest point of the mountain, combining their skill with the capability of the car they drive, which makes for a truly spectacular event.

Fans following this race will find a good number of electric cars facing the demands of this climb. That said, those who are impressed by the specifications and capabilities of this car will have to make do with seeing it at this event, since for the moment it is nothing more than a concept car that will not go into production. At least, for now.
Two modified Acura NSX models will also take part in the same event, but they use two electric motors. These cars will be driven by the Robinson brothers, Nick and James. In addition, a fourth NSX, a TLX and an MDX can also be seen, all ready to take on the challenge.
