The Aston Martin DB11 opens the second century of the brand with energy
The prestigious British brand wants the DB11 to become the standard-bearer of the new era that Aston Martin begins in its second century of existence

It is a car worthy of James Bond, and we like it. No, I’m not talking about the super agent’s latest tuxedo, nor the girl who accompanies him in the new instalment of his adventures. I mean the car that seems to have stepped off the screen to become something real, and that aims to usher in the new era of Aston Martin in this second century of existence it now faces, one that will make it memorable. Or so the famous British brand intends.
The Aston Martin DB11 aims to become a benchmark for this brand, so everything about it is new, from the chassis to the technology applied, opening a path that is meant to be the company’s future. This model is the fastest in the DB family, so we have few doubts that it will take on the role it is destined for. At least, for the next few years.

The DB11 is powered by a 5.6-litre V12 engine, which allows it to reach 600 CV and a peak torque of 700 Nm, enabling it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. It achieves this with the help of the eight-speed ZF gearbox, but also thanks to its design, which eliminates air resistance without the need for a rear spoiler, keeping the model’s sleek shape intact.
As for technological equipment, the model benefits from the alliance established with Daimler. This has allowed Aston Martin to fit its newest and most attractive model with the infotainment system of Mercedes, instead of the Volvo system fitted until now. Better technology, a finish that has everything we expect from a car of these characteristics and brand, and that promises a great driving experience, as we see in this video from Motor Trend, which offers a detailed and thorough review of the car.
The doubt that arises about this model is the recent announcement by Aston Martin of its intention to drop the 6.0-litre V12 engine from its range. So the powerplant used by this model, which is very similar to the discarded one, may also suffer the same fate. What surprises will this model bring us? For now, let’s watch this video, and we hope it doesn’t lose that imposing power with a lighter engine.
