The Aston Martin Vantage S becomes the FIA Safety Car in Formula 1

The Aston Martin Vantage S is one of the most imposing models presented by the British brand. For that reason, it has been chosen to become the Safety Car in Formula 1 competitions. This car is responsible for carrying out actions that guarantee the safety of the drivers when necessary, so it must be a car with enough power to meet that challenge.

To meet these demands, the Aston Martin Vantage S uses a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, which produces 680 CV of power and 800 Nm of torque. With this engine, it is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 324 km/h. In addition, aerodynamic improvements have been made to enhance its track behaviour.

These improvements include a new rear wing, and the elements typical of a safety vehicle have also been added, such as the emergency light bar required by the FIA. This set of lights has been designed to provide the maximum stability and visibility required in these conditions. This allows it to have the most suitable features to fulfil its role as a safety car.

To improve its appearance, the image has also been enhanced. Notable features include new grilles on the bonnet, designed to extract heat from the engine to the outside more efficiently. The full-width rear wing helps improve the car’s aerodynamic behaviour and helps maintain an overall load distribution with predominance on the front axle.

For the bodywork, the same colour Podium Green has been chosen as that used by the single-seaters of the Aston Martin Aramco team in Formula 1. It is also worth remembering that the brand has another model, the Aston Martin DBX707, which serves as the Official FIA Medical Car, also in Formula 1 competitions.
