The Audi e-tron S is just around the corner: this is what the first sporty electric Audi will look like
Audi is developing a more radical version of the e-tron, which will carry the S badge and has already been spotted tuning on the Nürburgring circuit

Many brands keep reminding us time and again that electric powertrains can also bring to life a car with sporting ambitions. Audi has always championed this kind of car through its combustion engines, but it seems the recipe is about to undergo a major change. The Audi e-tron, the brand’s first 100% electric vehicle, has returned to the heart of the Nürburgring wearing heavy camouflage, a clear sign that a more powerful version of the German SUV is being prepared slowly in the depths of the Green Hell.
This should come as no surprise, since every member of the four-ring family—with the exception of the A1—offers a hotter and even highly radical version within its range. The e-tron did not want to feel left out within its own family, which is why, without hesitation, it has decided to take on a tweak of the nuts.
For now, Audi is maintaining a deafening silence regarding this e-tron S, but thanks to the test mule circulating around the Nürburgring we can anticipate some details. The German firm has not hesitated for a second to apply its formula for creating performance vehicles to its electric SUV, although, naturally, adapting to the needs of a car of its nature.

The camouflage suggests the e-tron will receive aesthetic changes—and surely aerodynamic ones too—to more clearly represent the S badge that will sit on its rear. With this premise, we can expect a more aggressive and prominent front bumper with various chrome details, just like the rest of its siblings in the range. At the same time, the rear will be dominated mainly by a new diffuser, since the electric SUV does without an exhaust system and, therefore, its respective tailpipes.
Mechanically, we will also witness significant changes, with both the battery capacity and the electric motors increasing. In this way, we will be looking at a vehicle not only capable of covering more kilometres, but also more powerful, potentially offering more than 500 CV of power and torque above 700 Nm, figures that would also be complemented by a range close to 500 kilometres.

Whatever the case, Audi is cooking up something with the new e-tron and, although pinpointing the details exactly is difficult, everything points to the e-tron S being closer than not. Most likely it will be at the next Geneva Motor Show that the four-ring brand unveils this more exuberant version of its first electric model for the first time, a recipe that can also be applied to future models.
