The Audi Q4 e-tron will become a reality imminently, and it will have to face these models

Audi continues moving forward with the expansion of its electric cars, and the Audi Q4 e-tron will be its next bet, which already has several rivals.

Audi continues moving forward with the firm commitment to the e-tron family, a range of vehicles that stand out for combining exclusivity and efficiency with electricity. Clear examples of this are the Audi e-tron and the Audi e-tron GT, but the four-ring brand promised not long ago that it would also focus its efforts on developing more affordable vehicles of this kind. The Audi Q4 e-tron, the brand’s upcoming electric compact SUV, may be the one to usher in that new era.

However, the German brand has not been the first to venture into compact electric SUVs. That is why, although the Audi Q4 e-tron is a novelty, it will face tough rivals on the market ready to make things difficult for it and prevent it from triumphing in its quest to take the throne.

Mercedes-Benz EQA

Mercedes-Benz once again deals a hard blow to the competition with the Mercedes-Benz EQA, a compact SUV that arrives to further extend the electric family. With this model in play, the star brand attacks the segment from one of its main rungs, offering a vehicle capable of tackling urban environments and, at the same time, handling longer journeys.

Its proposal is enhanced by two electric motors that promise 190 CV and 375 Nm of torque, together with a 66.5 kWh battery. With all of this, the German SUV claims a range of 424 kilometres according to the WLTP cycle. More powerful versions, ready to compete more forcefully with the rest of the models, will arrive soon.

Tesla Model Y

Tesla also tackled the electric car segment with the Tesla Model Y, a compact SUV that inherits everything learned from its siblings in the range. In this way, the American brand positions itself as a tough rival to the upcoming Audi Q4 e-tron, whose mechanical details we still do not know.

In its long-range variant, the Model Y guarantees an output of 351 CV and a range of 505 kilometres according to the WLTP cycle. These figures are made possible by two electric motors and a 75 kWh battery.

Hyundai Kona

Hyundai has for some time offered a very interesting range of models, and the Hyundai Kona is no exception. Among the variants of the Korean SUV is an electric one ready to make things difficult for its main European rivals.

In its top-of-the-range variant, the Kona boasts an output of 204 CV and 395 Nm of torque, figures combined with a 64 kWh battery. Thanks to this, the Korean SUV claims a range of 484 kilometres according to the WLTP homologation cycle.
