Nissan continues to maintain a deafening silence regarding the Nissan 400Z, a model whose power and weight have been leaked.

Nissan stunned the world this summer when it began teasing the successor to the Z family legacy: the Nissan 400Z. After several teasers, rumors and different previews, the Japanese brand presented the Nissan Z Proto, a prototype that announced many features of the production model through a very similar styling. However, time passes and we still know nothing about the street-going variant… until now.

And the rumors are flying again around the highly anticipated Nissan 400Z, the name that the production version of this sports car will carry, a car that has left a very good impression among the most dedicated petrolheads. Considering that the design will be quite similar to the concept car -as will its cabin-, the biggest mystery lies in the mechanical side.

The Japanese brand only revealed that its prototype, the Nissan Z Proto, was powered by a twin-turbo V6. At no point did it mention its performance, even though the name of the street version is known and the 370Z, the predecessor it will surpass in power, figures, and dynamics, serves as a reference. But now the rumors are gaining more traction after learning, through Project Cars 3, a video game, the estimated power of the 400Z.

Leaks rarely come through video games, but it was through its latest software DLC, called Power Pack, that we obtained this information. Although the 400Z still appears as a concept car in the game, the performance details have been shown without reservations, allowing us to get an idea of what the future holds for this Japanese sports car.

The twin-turbo V6 already announced with the Nissan Z Proto will remain unchanged, producing 450 CV, somewhat more than the production model’s name suggests. To this power we must add a six-speed manual gearbox and a weight on the scales -also leaked through the game- of 1,475 kilos, slightly less than the 370Z.

For now, Nissan has not issued any statement on the matter, but we can infer that it is behind this leak. Considering it could be a planned move, it is not unreasonable to think the brand is just weeks or even days away from unveiling the long-awaited Nissan 400Z.
