The Audi R4 gets the green light

Sharing its platform with the Baby Porsche and the Baby Volkswagen was the Audi R4, the two-seater roadster that the company had shrouded in some doubt, since it was revealed only a short time ago that the Ingolstadt company would probably not produce it.
But in the last few hours the very CEO of Audi, Rupert Stadler, has confirmed that the R4 has received the go-ahead for production and that the Audi TT is in no danger in the shadow of this small roadster.
Nevertheless, the TT remains a heavyweight within the Audi ranks. In recent statements by some of its executives, the arrival of the new generation TT is placed ahead of the presentation of the R4. This would happen around the end of 2014 or the beginning of 2015.
Some other “analysts” have predicted that the R4 will not be the simple two-seater it appears to be. Since Porsche will be involved in the R4 programme, it has been said that it is likely that none other than the Porsche 911 will contribute to the R4 project, with part of its own front axle and part of the chassis.
