The Audi S5 from ABT will make you forget there is an RS version

German tuner ABT has created a version of the S5 with 425 hp, only 25 hp less than the most extreme version of the range: the RS5.

The second generation of the Audi S5 has been the latest prey of German tuner ABT Sportsline. The Audi sports saloon has been on the market for a few months, and ABT could not let the opportunity pass to create an even more extreme and powerful version.

The ABT upgrade package is aimed at the three available variants of the S5: Coupé, Cabrio and Sportback. With this kit, the 3.0-litre V6 TFSI engine of the S5 delivers 425 hp and 550 Nm of torque; 70 hp and 50 Nm more than the standard version. This increase in performance should considerably cut the 4.6 seconds this model takes to reach 100 km/h, although neither the brand nor the tuner has officially released any figure in this regard. What is clear is that the power figures of this version of the S5 position it as a direct rival to the BMW M3.

In addition to the mechanical changes, ABT offers a series of design upgrades for the Audi S5, among which stand out 19- and 20-inch alloy wheels (available in different colours). The German tuner also offers the option of fitting a redesigned rear bumper and a sport exhaust system.

Inside this S5, we can find a lighting system that projects the ABT logo onto the floor of the vehicle. The German tuner offers its customers a great deal of personalisation freedom and assures that “almost any request can be met”, referring to the preparation of the Audi S5.

The upgrade package that brings the power of the Audi S5 to 425 hp costs €3,590. Considering that the standard S5 costs €77,900 and that the RS version (450 hp) is priced at €90,730, it does not seem worth investing almost €10,000 extra in the highest variant of the range, does it?
