The BMW M8 Gran Coupé Concept is seen in motion at the Concorso d'Eleganza, drawing every eye

To mark the celebration of the 2018 Concorso d’Eleganza, several brands have come with their best creations to leave everyone who enjoys their presence amazed. BMW, as on previous occasions, did not want to waste the opportunity to show the world what it is capable of, not only technically but also in design. The M8 Gran Coupé Concept was chosen to represent the German marque at the Concorso d’Eleganza, where it captivated everyone present and delighted us with its genuine motion.

The BMW M8 Gran Coupé first amazed the world at the previous edition of the Geneva Motor Show, where it took the place of the highly anticipated production 8 Series, but its presence was enough to give us a preview of what the future model will offer. In the meantime, this video has allowed us to see the Gran Coupé variant in more detail and in better light, which will arrive later than the two-door version.

As we could observe in Geneva, BMW has taken the ashes of the 6 Series Gran Coupé to give it a completely different and improved form. As a true concept car, it features lines that are more exaggerated and pronounced than those the production model will offer, but there is no doubt that we can see the clear design language that BMW has been using in its recent models.

We should also remember that the “M” badge has been placed directly on this prototype, so aggressiveness and sportiness have been accentuated in equal measure, but at the same time, the improvements are striking. The front is harmoniously defined by two long, sharp headlights and the two large kidney grilles that are a characteristic symbol of all BMW. At the same time, a sharp splitter appears at the end of the front bumper, making clear the intentions of this future sports saloon.

As for the rear, we find lines that are also very pronounced and bold, where four powerful exhaust outlets hint at the capabilities of its engine. The diffuser and a small spoiler continue to set the clear sporting character of the M8 Gran Coupé; however, its mechanics remain a mystery, something that can also be seen in the video. Rumours suggest that a powerful twin-turbocharged V8 will reside inside, capable of delivering more than 600 CV, a figure more than enough to challenge both the Porsche Panamera and the Mercedes AMG GT four-door.

Without a doubt, BMW has decided to take more time than its rivals to develop the new 8 Series, which means creating a perfect sports car, where every single detail has been cultivated and pampered. Although the German marque has not announced official dates, the arrival of the new 8 Series among BMW’s current models is imminent, but in the meantime, we can enjoy the video of the Gran Coupé and its beauty.
