The BMW X2, now with the sporty Impulse trim

BMW adds a new trim to its BMW X2 range, called Impulse, which adds more sporty personalisation details to the Advantage.

You can now get a BMW X2 with that sporty look you like without having to opt for the M Sport or M Sport X trims, which cost over €6,000 more than the starting price, which, it has to be said, is not exactly cheap. Now, the new BMW X2 Impulse sits in the range right between the Advantage trim and the aforementioned M Sport. Its price when configuring an BMW X2 with any engine and choosing the Impulse trim is €3,800.

What does the BMW X2 Impulse include?

For that price, the X2 comes with everything the Advantage trim adds, which costs €1,850. Among the most important items are the automatic opening of the tailgate, the cruise control, the LED headlights and the rear parking sensors. To these it adds 18-inch alloy wheels instead of 17, sports front seats, a lighting package, an anthracite-finish interior roof lining, gloss black interior trim and satin aluminium BMW Individual exterior trim.

If we choose the entry-level version of the range, the BMW X2 sDrive 18d with 150 CV, which has a starting price of €35,099, the most affordable X2 Impulse goes up to €38,900. A price that is still higher than its most direct rivals, against which the X2 remains a good alternative if sporty sensations and agility at the wheel are the priority.

Diesel cheaper than petrol

By the way, a curiosity that is not common: the BMW X2 sDrive 18d with a 150 CV diesel engine is €800 cheaper than the BMW X2 sDrive 18i petrol with a 3-cylinder, 140 CV engine, when normally the petrol version –especially if it is less powerful– tends to be the cheaper one. And that is also the case here… if we compare prices before taxes. But the diesel is exempt from the Registration Tax as it is homologated at 119 g/km of CO2, whereas the petrol has emissions of 129 g/km and pays 4.75%. And there you have it.
