The McLaren 720S will receive two new striking designs

The McLaren 720S will feature two new designs already previewed at the Geneva International Motor Show in 2017.

Two stunning designs for the McLaren 720S will be unveiled very soon. The 720S Pacific Theme and the 720S Track Theme are the names of these two new designs, offering a greater range of personalisation for owners of this sports car. The theme of these designs follows the same pattern as the Velocity theme for the 720S that we saw earlier. These designs caused a sensation at the Geneva festival.

The Track Theme is painted in a white tone created specifically for the brand’s anniversary and influenced by the Formula 1 car. The Pacific Theme, on the other hand, focuses on highlighting the sophistication and luxury features of the 720S.

In the words of Ansar Ali (Managing Director of McLaren Special Operations): “The 720S is an exceptional car in every respect even in its base state, but there is always potential to make it even more special through individual additional details or a wide range of creative extras, and that is where the McLaren Special Operations department plays a fundamental role.”

The 720S Track Theme, as well as the Pacific Theme, follow their own set of design guidelines, with unique touches throughout the finish, executed under the MSO technical precision signature. Each design theme enhances the model’s aesthetics in the areas it aims to highlight. The Track Theme, for instance, seeks to give the model a more aggressive touch, perhaps more oriented towards circuits, while the Pacific Theme focuses especially on accentuating the fine lines of the McLaren to lend even more class to the English sports car.

The first 720S Track Theme was commissioned by McLaren Manchester and features a Anniversary White finish, a colour inspired by the Formula 1 championship winners of the 1980s. The exterior is hand-painted, with special attention to areas such as the door handles, the rear panels, and the black carbon-fibre air intakes, using the colour employed on the Formula 1 car. An orange tone can also be seen that subtly runs along the wheel rim.

The 720S Pacific Theme, on the other hand, was commissioned by McLaren in Glasgow and draws inspiration from one of the great oceans’ deep blue. It is painted in a Cerulean Blue tone, the same colour the brand currently uses on its Formula 1 single-seater. The door intakes feature a darker shade of blue, specifically a tone called Estoril.

The paintwork is complemented by MSO capability, especially that used to paint its carbon-fibre parts in a cobalt blue shade visible on areas such as the roof, the front splitter, the air intakes, the mirrors, and the rear diffuser, as well as a coating of the same on the engine.

Undoubtedly a great decision by McLaren to introduce these two beautiful colour options for one of its best-selling models.
