The BMW X5 Dark Flame Edition celebrates 25 years of the model in China
This version of the BMW X5 has been designed and produced in China to commemorate 25 years since the model’s launch, and only 1,000 units will be sold in China alone.

It has been 25 years since the new BMW X5 was launched, and special editions are being rolled out in several markets around the world to celebrate this anniversary. In China, they wanted to mark the occasion with a special edition that can only be purchased in this country. It is called BMW X5 Dark Flame and is one of the most spectacular versions on show.
This version is based on the long-wheelbase BMW X5 Li, which sets it apart from the other special variants launched in other countries. The design opts for a dark and powerful aesthetic, with sapphire blue paintwork and gold details in Titan Gold. These gold accents appear on the grille, the air intakes in the front bumper, the side sections and the window surrounds.

The wheels fitted to this model measure 22 inches and are finished in black. The brake calipers feature a visible M badge. The rear lights are finished in smoked black. The Dark Flame emblem also appears on the side lights, which project it onto the ground.
This variant is slightly larger than other versions of the same model. It measures 5,060 millimetres in length and its width is 3,105 millimetres. These dimensions place it alongside other larger models from the brand, such as the X7 and the XM.

Inside, the upholstery is Sensafin soft synthetic leather, while the roof is lined with dark grey Alcantara. The sunroof has a starry-sky finish. There are contrasting gold stitching, and carbon fibre inserts have been fitted to the dashboard and the centre console.
The level of equipment is quite high, and buyers can enjoy heated and ventilated seats. The four-zone climate control ensures comfort on board, and the digital instrument cluster is curved to improve visibility. A sound system signed by Harman Kardon is also part of the equipment. Of course, the Dark Flame logo appears in many places throughout the cabin.
This special edition is based on the xDrive40Li variant, which uses a 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder mild hybrid engine. This unit delivers 375 CV and a maximum torque of 520 Nm, transmitted to all four wheels through an eight-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox. It also features adaptive two-axle air suspension, an exhaust signed by the M Sport division, and brakes from the same brand.
The price of this special version is approximately 115,000 euros, depending on the exchange rate. Only 1,000 units of this variant will be produced, and it will become the most attractive variant in the range in China.
