The Bugatti Super Veyron, the ultimate machine

Bugatti wants to keep evolving the Veyron, and will launch a new version with up to 1,500 horsepower, with a more aggressive and lightweight body, ready to become a record breaker.

In the VW Group, nothing is ever enough. Especially when we talk about records, about figures. About the fastest road-legal vehicle in the world. About the Bugatti Veyron.

If anyone thought they had seen it all with this car, they could not be more mistaken. Plans for the Veyron keep multiplying, and the latest one stars the outrageous figure of 1,500 CV.

The VW Group already has everything ready to make the next Bugatti Veyron the ultimate weapon, the very best, the icon of icons. Starting with an even more aggressive and wider body, where aerodynamics will take the lead in keeping the Super Veyron glued to the ground. The structure of this new supercar will weigh roughly 200 kg less than that of the current Veyron, which will place it right at the 1,500 kg barrier.

Of course, most of the changes will lie in the powertrain, completely renewed with a W16 engine that will presumably increase in displacement. The power layout will be similar to the current one; no hybrid power boost system is expected, ruled out for weight reasons. Thanks to the increased displacement and overall update of the engine, the new Veyron will reach 1,500 CV, which means a new record among road-going vehicles.

Acceleration will not improve much more since tyre grip is limited, but top speed will indeed increase. There is talk of reaching 280 mph, equivalent to the monstrous figure of 450 km/h. A real challenge for the brand’s engineers which, if achieved, will mark a new milestone in the history of road motoring.
