The BYD ATTO 2 opens its orders and sales in Spain

BYD expands its range in Spain with the start of sales of its new SUV, the ATTO 2

Byd Atto 2 (1)

A few months ago, BYD presented a new electric SUV that would join its range in Spain, the ATTO 2, with the promise that it would be on sale during the first quarter of 2025. And so it is: it can now be ordered at the brand’s dealerships, and it also comes with the claim of being the cheapest model in the brand’s lineup, aiming to make life difficult for the competition in segment B.

As we already previewed, the BYD ATTO 2 is positioned as a compact SUV, measuring 4,310 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width and 1,675 mm in height, which places it one step below the ATTO 3. The front reflects the brand’s design, with an LED light unit featuring slim daytime running lights combined with lower grille moldings, while the defined lines of the bumper along with the chrome trim reinforce its SUV image.

This image is also supported from the side by a lower cladding that accentuates its height. Moving a little higher, the roofline gives the impression of a floating roof and runs along it to meet the glass at the C-pillar. The roof extends toward the rear with a distinctive spoiler, and a light bar spanning its full width catches the eye, connected to the rear light unit in the shape of a “Chinese knot,” as the brand explains, a nod to the number 8 and the Möbius infinity ring.

Inside the ATTO 2, BYD has aimed for an elegant style combined with quality materials, all serving as a link with the exterior design. Regardless of the chosen trim, the ATTO 2 comes with electric front seats. Its occupants will have plenty of light thanks to the glass panoramic roof, and even those in the rear seats will benefit from the practicality of the flat floor made possible by its innovative e-Platform 3.0. Further back is a 400-litre boot, expandable to 1,340 litres if the rear seats are folded down.

All trims feature an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and an infotainment system screen that can be 10.1 or 12.8 inches depending on the trim chosen. Both will be compatible with apps such as Spotify, YouTube, Zoom and Amazon Music, and will be able to receive OTA updates, as well as offering connectivity through Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Devices can stay charged at all times using the USB-C and USB-A ports, while the top trim also offers 15 W wireless charging in the centre console.

Its electric system is powered by a motor located on the front axle that delivers 177 CV of power and 290 Nm of torque, enabling it to reach 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and a top speed of 160 km/h. The system is completed by the 45.1 kWh Blade Battery, which offers a range of 312 km on the combined cycle. It can be charged with direct current at up to 65 kW, taking it from 10% to 80% of its capacity in 37 minutes. As standard, a 11 kW three-phase AC charger is included, allowing the battery to be charged from completely empty to 100% in five and a half hours.
