The Rivian Adventure Network continues to grow strongly. In the last month alone, four new stations were added, driving its expansion.

The Californian startup Rivian has reached an important milestone affecting its charging infrastructure. Its Rivian Adventure Network now has more than 1,000 DC fast charging points spread across the length and breadth of the United States.

This past month, the company opened four new stations adding 44 additional charging points. According to data from the Alternative Fuels Data Center of the U.S. Department of Energy, known by its acronym AFDC, the network now operates at 148 different locations. Each station uses proprietary Rivian chargers, operating with a single cable per point.

Currently, only 166 of these chargers, distributed across 50 different locations, have NACS connectors. Rivian launched a modernization programme last year to increase this number, as its goal was for a significant part of its network to be adapted to this standard by the end of 2025. Although the rollout is progressing more slowly than planned, six stations already operate exclusively with NACS. This change is directly related to the inclusion of native NACS ports in its new models, such as the revamped R2 and other updated versions. At the remaining locations, NACS connectors are being installed alongside the existing CCS infrastructure.

This is how all charging networks should be

One of the major advantages of the Rivian network is its full integration with the brand’s digital ecosystem. Drivers can check charger availability in real time both through the mobile app and the vehicle’s infotainment system. The company states that, by controlling the hardware, software and local maintenance, it has managed to maintain 98 percent uptime throughout 2025, and plans to keep improving its reliability throughout 2026 and the years that follow.

The Rivian Adventure Network was born in 2021 and, at the beginning, was only available to Rivian vehicle owners. Initially, the company had more ambitious plans, aiming to have more than 3,500 charging points at over 600 different locations across the United States and Canada by the end of 2023. Although those exact figures were not met, the network’s sustained growth demonstrates Rivian’s commitment to improving the charging experience for its customers.
