The Chevrolet Tahoe RST packs a punch with its 420 CV and proves it can even drift
The Chevrolet Tahoe RST wanted to prove its capabilities on track, so it headed to the Yas Marina circuit to show its worth by drifting.

The SUV segment is one of the most crowded today, since these vehicles have enough expertise to offer countless alternatives to their customers. However, many criticise them for lacking sportiness, despite the clear presence of models with “M”, “AMG” or “S” badges behind them. To clear the SUVs’ name, we have the Chevrolet Tahoe RST, a model sold only in American territory, which wanted to remind us that not all heroes wear capes and that not all sports cars have two doors, a mid-mounted engine and room for just two occupants.
The American SUV wanted to show that the segment it represents can indeed deliver fun and, to do so, it travelled to Abu Dhabi, more specifically to the Yas Marina circuit. There, the Tahoe RST let itself be charmed by Ahmad Daham, a professional driver who managed to bring out the spiciest and most mischievous side of Chevrolet’s flagship SUV.
Let us remember that, although the Tahoe RST, nor any other version, is sold in the old continent, what it is capable of can be extrapolated and applied to local sporty SUVs. Nevertheless, the American brand knows what it is doing when it comes to developing powerful vehicles, and the letters RST are not a mere decorative symbol.

Under the skin of the American SUV we find a gigantic 6.2-litre V8 engine capable of producing 420 CV of power and 570 Nm of torque. With these figures we have one of the most capable and powerful models in its segment, something we see reflected in the brutal and overwhelming way it tackles corners while deploying its rear end.
And “SUV” and “sportiness” are not incompatible concepts, as the Chevrolet Tahoe RST shows, since it forces us to bring out our best hands to keep its oversteer from playing a nasty trick on us. At the same time, this fun and precision can turn into comfort and exclusivity, two traits that also come from the American SUV.

This is how Chevrolet has wanted to show us that its sporty spirit runs through virtually its entire range, with the Tahoe in its RST variant being a clear example of this. At the same time, this is also a declaration of war on the European continent, since many brands do sell on the other side of the pond, thus becoming direct competitors of the all-powerful Tahoe RST.
