The Citroën C3 Aircross comes with a much more modern and expressive look

Following the facelift of the Citroën C3, it is now the turn of the Aircross, which arrives with a restyled front end that can be enjoyed from the summer onwards

The Citroën C3 Aircross arrived at the end of 2017 to make this family of compact models from the French brand even more versatile, and to compete in the crowded compact SUV segment, selling more than 330,000 units of a vehicle that, let us remember, is built in Spain. After several updates and special editions, the Citroën C3 Aircross has now reached the moment to renew its look and technology.

The new Citroën C3 Aircross continues to bet on a silhouette typical of an SUV, which is also reflected in its height of 1,640 mm together with a length of 4,160 mm, a width of 1,760 mm and a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. Its styling is inspired by the restyled Citroën C3, as seen in the use of the double “chevron” which widens as it approaches the headlights, giving it a more robust appearance.

That said, the Citroën C3 Aircross has a distinctive look compared with the C3, so its front end is completely different and now evolves into a double grille featuring a design that has so far been unseen for the French manufacturer; in the upper section, we see how it also serves to join with the body that now reaches the same height as this grille, all of this to give a sensation of greater size and presence. This sensation is also reinforced by the use of a raised bonnet that bulges at the sides in harmony with the headlights, while along the lower part of the bumper, silver-coloured protection is also present.

Aesthetically there are no further changes, but on the other hand Citroën will allow the C3 Aircross to have greater customisation capability, which increases to 70 possible combinations. There will be 7 exterior colours available, of which 3 are new; 4 colour packs, of which 2 of them are new tones with a textured effect; in addition to roof colours to choose from. Furthermore, you can choose between new wheel designs in sizes of 16 and 17 inches in a diamond-cut finish or entirely black. The interior will continue to be dominated by the four ambiences available: standard, Urban Blue, Metropolitan Graphite and Hype Grey; the last two with contrasting stitching on the upholstery.

Inside the new Citroën C3 Aircross we will continue to find the same roominess and comfort characteristic for its occupants, who will benefit from a boot that can range between 410 and 520 litres depending on the position of the rear seats, and up to 1,280 litres when the rear seats are fully folded. This roominess will also be accompanied by new-generation technologies aimed at our safety and comfort, as well as a new 9-inch screen for the infotainment system with an improved interface, so that it will now be much easier to read.

Mechanically, the new Citroën C3 Aircross continues to maintain the range we already knew, consisting of the 110 hp PureTech petrol with manual transmission or the 130 PureTech with automatic transmission; along with the diesel 110 hp BlueHDi with manual transmission which was received in December and the 120 hp BlueHDi with automatic transmission.

For the moment the price of the new Citroën C3 Aircross is not known, although we will not have to wait long to find out, as the brand plans for its market launch to take place from next June onwards.
