The Citroën C4 X and ë-C4 X reveal their range in Spain, where they can now be ordered

Citroën begins selling the C4 X and its fully electric version, the ë-C4 X, in Spain, showing us how the range is made up and what its price is

Citroën ë C4 X (2)

Last summer Citroën expanded its line-up with the new C4 X and its fully electric version called ë-C4 X, a saloon that takes the C4 as its reference but adopts a design inspired by SUVs, giving us a very interesting model halfway between both segments. It also has a very personal look with certain coupé touches, and it is now available to enjoy in Spain.

The Citroën C4 X is larger than the C4 despite keeping the same wheelbase, reaching a total length of 4,600 mm. This is especially noticeable in the rear seats, where occupants will enjoy greater comfort, while the front seats are similar to those of the C4. Add to that a boot with a large capacity of 510 litres. It also inherits components from other models in the brand, such as the infotainment screen integrated into the dashboard that we already saw on the C5 X.

In our country the Citroën C4 X, and consequently its fully electric version the ë-C4 X, can be chosen in the Blanco Polar finish, the metallic Gris Acero and Gris Platino, and the pearlescent Blanco Nacarado, Negro Perla Nera and Rojo Elixir; these can also be complemented by four colour packs (gloss black, gloss silver, anodised intense red and anodised blue). Still on the exterior, we will also have three wheel designs, all in 18-inch size, which can be chosen in four different finishes.

Regarding the interior, Citroën will let us choose between four ambiances for the C4 X, the first of which is the standard, combining Meanwhile fabric with black cloth. The next is called Urban Grey, combining Grey Chevrons fabric with black leatherette cloth for the Advanced Comfort seats. The following, called Metropolitan Grey, combines black cloth with leatherette and grey fabric and, finally, the Hype Black ambiance, which combines Black Siena grained leather with black leather-look cloth. In addition, the ë-C4 X features blue decoration on the doors that recalls its electric powertrain.

In terms of equipment, the Citroën C4 X and ë-C4 X are configured in a range with three trim levels, which include, among others, the following elements:

  • Feel
    • Automatic two-zone air conditioning
    • Citroën Advanced Comfort suspension
    • Safety Pack
    • Automatic electric parking brake
    • LED front headlights with daytime running lights
    • Front fog lights with static cornering light function
    • Exterior mirrors in Gloss Black finish
    • 18-inch Aerotech wheel trims (the electric version has Crosslight wheels in a gloss finish)
  • Feel Pack
    • Advanced Comfort seats
    • Backlit colour digital instrument cluster
    • Electrically folding exterior mirrors
    • Rear view camera
    • Door handles in body colour
    • 18-inch Aeroblade wheels in Anthra Grey finish (except the electric version)
  • Shine
    • Colour head-up display
    • Electrochromic interior rear-view mirror
    • Smart Pad mount
    • Rear centre armrest with ski hatch

Mechanically, the Citroën C4 X can use two petrol engines, PureTech, both three-cylinder 1,200 cc units with outputs of 100 CV (for the Feel trim) and 130 CV (for the Feel Pack and Shine trims), paired with a six-speed manual gearbox and an 8-speed EAT automatic gearbox respectively. If we opt for diesel, the only engine available is the BlueHDi 1,500 cc unit, delivering 130 CV and linked to the same 8-speed EAT automatic gearbox (Feel Pack and Shine trims).

Citroën ë C4 X (4)

On the other hand, if we prefer the ë-C4 X, there is only one fully electric option, powered by an electric motor delivering 136 CV, working together with a 50 kW battery that gives it a range of 359 kilometres. This battery can be recharged at fast-charging points of up to 100 kW, allowing it to reach 80% of its capacity in about 30 minutes. The Citroën ë-C4 X has the advantage that it can be chosen in any of the three trim levels mentioned above.

Both the Citroën C4 X and its electric version, the ë-C4 X, will arrive at Spanish dealerships during the first quarter of 2023, but the brand is already accepting orders, with a price starting from 22,785 euros including taxes.
