Carrozzeria Castagna has also joined the celebrations for the centenary of Alfa Romeo. Its “gift” was not meant to be any less special than all the tributes and homages from Pininfarina and Bertone, the coachbuilders who offered Alfa their respective models for the centenary.

This time Carrozzeria Castagna came up with a model based on the 8C, which they have named Coupé Targa. With its almost circular windscreen and a front end that is entirely out of the ordinary, few traces of the 8C remain, were it not for the basic shape, which lies hidden beneath this very distinctive design.

Carrozzeria Castagna is also set to present a people carrier called Ricotti, another homage, but this time with a touch of history. In 1914, Marco Ricotti of Carrozzeria Castagna, who was already doing his own thing back then with concepts ahead of their time, built the Alfa 40/60 HP Aerodinamica, a minivan-style vehicle that began to explore the territory of more aerodynamic designs and made use of greater interior space under a very extravagant design for the era.
