Born Cupra El-Born Electric Cars Compact
The CUPRA Born improves its features, including a new battery and Plug & Charge technology as standard
The CUPRA Born is now even more attractive with a new battery that will increase its range, while the entire range benefits from Plug & Charge technology

A few months ago the CUPRA Born completed its range on the Spanish market, after going on sale in September of last year with the powerful e-Boost version, but this does not mean the Spanish company has stopped developing its fully electric compact. The e-Boost version will be the one to benefit from the latest improvements the brand has brought us.
Let’s recall that the CUPRA Born e-Boost uses the same electric motor as the rest of the versions, producing a power output of 204 CV together with a torque of 310 Nm. The difference is that this version is capable of producing a peak power of 231 CV while maintaining the same torque. This allows it to reach 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds, reducing the acceleration time by 0.7 seconds compared with the base version.

Until now this version was associated with a 58 kWh battery, which gives it a range of 420 kilometres. Now, customers who opt for the CUPRA Born e-Boost can equip it with the Pack & Battery Pack, which fits a battery with greater net capacity, specifically 77 kWh, allowing its range to increase significantly, up to 549 kilometres.

Taking advantage of the arrival of this new CUPRA battery, the brand has also announced another novelty that will make life easier for Born drivers: all versions of the Born now come as standard with Plug & Charge technology, which offers all users a simpler and smoother way to charge the battery, thanks to the support of companies such as IONITY and Aral/bp, as well as other companies that will soon join this platform.

Thanks to Plug & Charge technology, the CUPRA Born will be able to identify itself to the charging station using an encrypted standard, and then start the charging process automatically. In this way, the user will no longer need a mobile phone or an RFID card to carry out the operation; simply plugging in the vehicle starts the charging process at compatible stations. This means Born drivers will be able to access more than 300,000 public charging points in Europe, of which 6,300 are in Spain.
In addition, customers who opt for the Born with the 77 kWh battery will be able to equip their vehicle, just like customers who already have the 58 kWh battery, with elements such as 340 mm front brake discs, the exclusive CUPRA mode, or 20-inch “Firestorm” alloy wheels fitted with specific Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres.
