The Dacia Spring debuts the Extreme trim and announces a new electric powertrain

The Dacia Spring kicks off 2023 with a new trim that enhances its visual appeal and a more powerful electric powertrain

Without a doubt, Dacia hit the mark in spring 2021 when it began selling the Spring, an electric vehicle that, with a very attractive price, has managed to convince more than 100,000 customers looking for more sustainable ways to get around the city. Dacia now aims to further boost its sales with a new trim and a new, more powerful powertrain.

The Dacia Spring welcomes 2023 with its new Extreme trim, which replaces the Expression trim that had become the most popular choice among prospective Spring owners. It delivers a more striking exterior thanks to the new Slate Blue body colour, combined with elements finished in Copper Brown, such as the roof rail mouldings, the mirror housings, the moulding below the headlights, the Dacia logo on the boot, the wheels, and the lower part of the doors with a specific graphic similar to the moulding on the front of the doors, which is reminiscent of the Duster.

As is to be expected from a special edition, the Dacia Spring Extreme features an interior that follows the same theme as the exterior, with, for example, sill strips bearing the same graphic as the door exterior, which is also applied to the rubber floor mats. Copper Brown also appears on the inserts of the interior door panels, the central console trim and air vents, and on the seat stitching, which also features the Dacia Link logo embossed.

But as I mentioned at the beginning, this is not the only news for the Dacia Spring, because the Extreme trim now brings more power thanks to a new 65 CV electric motor, increasing output by 20 CV over the previously sole powertrain option, paired with a new, specifically designed reduction gear for this motor. What does not change is the battery, which remains lithium-ion with a capacity of 27.4 kWh, allowing a range of 224 km on the WLTP cycle, slightly less than the 230 km range offered by the 45 CV version.

Dacia has already confirmed that the new Spring Extreme can be ordered from 1 February, while the first deliveries will take place before summer, with a set price of 22,205 euros, which already includes the MOVES Plan incentives.
