The Daily Access GNC offers lower emissions for urban passenger transport
The popular bus manufacturer has just unveiled a variant of its Daily Access model that runs on both natural gas and biomethane.

Sustainable mobility is gradually gaining ground in various passenger transport services. Several manufacturers are working on buses and other vehicles powered by electricity, whether stored in batteries or generated by a hydrogen fuel cell. But there is also another option, one that is already on the market and largely goes unnoticed by most consumers: Compressed Natural Gas.
Iveco has just presented the Daily Access CNG, a bus that runs on this fuel. The first units will be available for delivery at the beginning of 2022, so urban transport fleets will be able to start introducing this model into their service shortly. This variant will be available in classes A, I and II, so it will offer a wide range of configurations for users.

Functionality and several sizes
The Daily Access CNG buses range in length from 7.1 to 8 metres. This allows for different seating configurations, so the uses these units can be put to are numerous. In addition, it has been designed so that passengers travel comfortably, with features such as USB ports for charging mobile devices. It has also been designed for easy ticket purchase and other functionalities.

Engine and range
The Daily Access CNG engine delivers 136 CV of power and a maximum torque of 350 Nm. The design of this variant has been improved by placing the gas grille on the roof, and it is offered with fuel tank access on the left side. Optional access is also available on the right side, next to the rear axle. The tank has a capacity of 460 litres in its most optimised version, which allows a range of up to 510 kilometres.
The engine can also run on biomethane, so mobility options increase even when CNG is not available at a given time. With this fuel it is even possible to reduce CO2 emissions still further, making it a city service vehicle that can be very practical for getting around urban centres, even where traffic restrictions apply for environmental reasons.
Additional services for customers
The new IVECO models not only offer sustainable mobility solutions, but also come with maintenance services, fleet management and cloud-based notifications.
