The disintegration of the Lamborghini Miura: art seen in a different way

Fabian Oefner is an acclaimed artist who has chosen to use the Lamborghini Miura to show us his latest work, in which we see its disintegration.

Many of us see the automotive world as a sector where art has a major place, a point of view that the brands themselves also support and defend. Italy, birthplace of some of the most famous supercars of all time, has always been closely tied to art because of its history, something that is also reflected in vehicles such as the Lamborghini. The bull’s brand was responsible for conceiving one of the most acclaimed models of all time, the Miura, but today they offer us a very different way of looking at this emblematic model.

To do so, the brand has handed the spotlight to Fabian Oefner, a Swiss designer and photographer who has decided to fully immerse himself in the world of cars. Oefner has several works to his name but, without a doubt, this one made with the Lamborghini Miura is one of the most impressive by far.

Surely many will call this work sacrilege, but the truth is that the Lamborghini Miura used to create this striking photo was undergoing restoration. The owner of the car is a close friend of Fabian’s, so it was easy to reach an agreement to carry out this work, which shows each and every one of the parts that make up the mechanics of the Italian supercar.

With this premise we can see how the Miura, quite literally, disintegrates, an expression Oefner used to name this work of art. As if it were an explosion, we can see how everything from the first bolt to the spark plugs is ejected, creating an effect that is both curious and attractive.

Let us remember that this Italian supercar was powered by a 4.0-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine capable of producing 385 CV of power and 400 Nm of torque in the SV variant. Without a doubt, the complexity and dimensions of that heart did not make Fabian’s task any easier, since we can see all the parts suspended from a thread to create that sense of propulsion.

Fabian Oefner has already managed to carve out his own fame in the automotive world, since he has already produced similar photographs with other models of the caliber of the Miura. This is how we are witnesses to a new approach not only to art itself, but also to the car, a piece that on many occasions can be used for more than just getting us from one place to another.
