The Drako GTE electric supercar will arrive this summer with 1,200 CV. The electric car manufacturer Drako Motors has announced its new plans to present its first electric car at the Quail Motorsport Gathering on 16 August.

The manufacturer’s first electric car will be called Drako GTE, and the model will be considered a “limited-production, all-electric supercar” that offers “thrilling performance with maximum control and safety”.

Little is known about the electric supercar, but everything points to the Drako GTE being equipped with four motors producing a combined output of 1,200 CV, or 895 kW, and a peak torque of 8,800 Nm. According to the manufacturer itself, these figures will allow the Drako GTE to reach a top speed of 332 km/h.

There is currently no information on range or battery pack size, but the electric car maker has stated that the supercar will have “steering precision like no other supercar ever seen on the road”.

Some reports have also revealed that “the immense power of the Drako GTE will be controlled by evolved technology from track driving at a circuit such as Nürburgring“. The Drako GTE prototype set a fast lap in 2015 during its early stages of development.

The future Drako GTE will seat four and was designed by Lowie Vermeersch and his team, known as GranStudio in Turin, Italy. This team has worked on several supercar models, including the Ferrari California, the Ferrari FF and the Ferrari 458.

They also played a very important role in creating the impressive prototype of the Alfa Romeo 2uettottanta and the Dallara Stradale. The new Drako GTE teaser was released as a short clip and reveals little information, but shows that the model will have slim light units and a curvilinear bonnet. There also appears to be a fully closed grille and vertical air intakes near the outer edges.

While Drako Motors is a relatively unknown manufacturer, the Silicon Valley-based company has said it has spent almost a decade developing the design, engineering and closed-track development. The company was founded by two American entrepreneurs, Dean Drako and Shiv Sikand, and aims to “create amazing, driver-focused supercars that deliver thrilling performance with maximum control and safety, both on the road and on the track”.

The Drako GTE, the new electric supercar from the American manufacturer, in addition to seating four passengers, will have enough space to carry luggage. Notably, the electric supercar with 1,200 CV and 8,800 Nm of peak torque will make its public debut on 16 August of this year at the prestigious Quail Motorsport Gathering during the Monterey Car Week 2019, a motorsport event dedicated to select guests.
