The electric SUV from Ford based on the Mustang is rendered: will this be the next creation from the oval-badge brand?

The world of electric cars is about to welcome a member that could be described as the wildest and purest, two characteristics that it will be able to carry thanks to its undeniable muscle car DNA. That’s right, we are talking about the much-anticipated SUV that Ford began developing from the Mustang’s base, a vehicle that has certain traits that are on the verge of extinction. Everything suggests we will have to wait a few more years before seeing this first 100% electric model from the American brand, but Kolesa, a Russian magazine, has produced a series of renders that could be very faithful to reality.

As is usual with renders, first a vehicle that already exists is taken as a base or a series of its features is used to give shape to that supposed new model. This is exactly what the Russian designers have done to bring to life the electric SUV from Ford, a car about which, for now, few details are known, but we do know it will be based on the iconic pony car, the Mustang.

It is true that this new offspring of the oval-badge brand will bid farewell to the captivating Coyote engine that powers the Mustang GT, but thanks to its clear muscle car essence we can keep appreciating the brutality so characteristic of the segment. The creators of the render have taken this same interpretation, since from it they have managed to convey that rugged, imposing look that is present in this type of vehicle.

At first glance we can see how the current Mustang was used to shape the final concept seen in the images. The pony car’s front end has been respected throughout, as has its rear; however, we notice one major difference : it is now presented as a five-door vehicle.

We should also highlight the drop of the C-pillar, which gives it that SUV coupé look that manages to streamline the car itself and accentuate its sportiness. However, one aspect that puzzles us a little is the presence of a dual exhaust outlet, an element that should not be there since it is an electric vehicle.

As we have already mentioned, information about this long-awaited model is still very scarce, but thanks to this render we can start giving shape to the teasers provided by the American brand. This is how Ford intends to venture into the electric segment, and it does not want to lose the sportiness it conveys through models like the Mustang.
