The F.C. Barcelona players already have their new CUPRAs
The car brand has delivered its new models to the F.C. Barcelona players, who personalised them themselves a few weeks ago.

Sports sponsorships of football teams usually come with the gift of several units of whatever the sponsor manufactures or produces, so if it is a car maker, we already know what the team’s players will enjoy. In the case of F.C. Barcelona, the sponsor is CUPRA, so this week the brand’s cars were handed over to the squad. Each of them made their preference clear and chose the one they liked best.
Before receiving their car, the Barça players took part in an activity promoted by the brand in which each of them personalised the chosen vehicle. Among the models the footballers could choose from were the CUPRA Formentor, the first model designed entirely by the brand; the CUPRA León, in its 5-door and Sportstourer versions; and the CUPRA Ateca.

CUPRA Formentor, the favourite
Of all the models, the one that drew the most interest and attention from the F.C. Barcelona players was the CUPRA Formentor. Miralem Pjanić, the Bosnian midfielder, opted for a Formentor in Magnetic Tech Matt for his car, the 310 CV version. The same configuration was chosen by Gerard Piqué, Pedri, Francisco Trincão, Martin Braithwaite, Sergiño Dest, Riqui Puig and Óscar Mingueza, who were also drawn to this variant.

The same car but in Desire Red will go to Ronald Araújo’s garage, while CUPRA ambassador Marc ter Stegen has gone for the 245 CV plug-in hybrid version. Defenders Clément Lenglet and Junior Firpo opted for the CUPRA Ateca in Crystal Black and Rodium Grey respectively.
This was the first model launched by the brand, derived from parent company SEAT, and it has been redesigned to set apart the “traditional” version from the one belonging to this high-performance brand. Its 300 CV have convinced the players and got them interested in it.
CUPRA and F.C. Barcelona have joined forces since 2019 and will travel the sporting and commercial road together for at least five years.
