The Fiat 500 faces the Smart ForTwo Cabrío, in Auto Motor und Sport

Two heavyweights of the “little ones” segment, the Fiat 500 and the Smart ForTwo in its convertible version, went head to head in a comparison test by the magazine Auto Motor und Sport. There is a large number of people looking for a car that is economical, doesn’t consume much, can carry two people comfortably and is manoeuvrable enough in a big city for parking. This test is aimed at them.

Let’s say I had never associated a test between these two models, I don’t know why, so at first it struck me as a little curious. I have no doubt that personally I would choose the Fiat 500 for a number of personal reasons, even though it is a little bigger and more expensive than the Smart.

Auto Motor und Sport drew the following conclusions from the test : in favour of the Fiat 500, design, capacity, comfort and better fuel consumption. In favour of the Smart, manoeuvrability, lower weight, a smaller size (I’m not sure this is an advantage) and a lower price.

If you had to choose a small car , would you go for one of these two, or would you choose another brand?30
