The Ford Mustang is joining the German Polizei, but only during the Essen event

When we talk about a worldwide customisation event, our minds go straight to the SEMA in Las Vegas, but in Europe we have an equivalent event that brings us a range of interesting cars. These are vehicles that have benefited from the skill and artistry of some of the engineers specialising in customising these cars, and they gather at the Essen Motor Show, in Germany. And one of the stars of this edition has been a sixth-generation Ford Mustang, the one currently being sold in Europe.

It was not a random choice. Since it arrived on the European market in summer 2015, the Ford Mustang has become one of the most attractive cars for buyers of sports cars, the popular muscle cars, especially in Germany. The Ford Mustang has been transformed into a car of the German Polizei, and it certainly looks spectacular with the police force’s livery and all the power the car exudes.

The transformation was carried out under the Tune It! Safe! initiative, which turns one of the most popular cars of the year, always from the upper range, into emergency vehicles. Previous editions transformed cars from German brands, but the success of the Ford Mustang in the German market has led Wolf Racing to take charge of giving it this form.

The car has received the paint treatment of the German police force, with the blue stripes characteristic of the police over a white background that makes it visible from afar. But this has not been the only transformation the Ford Mustang has received at the hands of the customisation company.

It has also received a new body kit, black wheels fitted with tyres designed for high-speed pursuits if necessary, and dampers that allow the car’s height to be adjusted for use on very different terrain. The exhaust system has also been replaced with another, which has turned the 5.0-litre V8 engine into a remarkable unit with a sound that will make the bad guys think twice about facing it. Power has risen from 415 CV to 448 CV.

Unfortunately, it will not actually be part of the police fleet, but it will take part in several exhibitions across the country, where emergency vehicles are the stars, and this version of the Ford Mustang is sure to delight many security forces. Will we also see it in the colours of Abu Dhabi?
