The Ford Transit Nugget Camper Van is now available: this is what the camper-converted van offers

Although many users choose to convert their van into a camper, others opt to buy the camper version offered by the manufacturer itself. Ford has a more than interesting option, and it takes the form of the Ford Transit Nugget Camper Van, which is already on sale. That said, anyone who wants one of these camper-converted vans will have to wait until spring 2024 to receive the unit they have reserved.

The Ford Transit Nugget Camper Van will be launched in two phases. The first, available since August, will feature an EcoBlue engine delivering 170 CV, together with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. At the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025, the remaining versions will arrive, including the plug-in hybrid variant.

A more accessible and technological interior

One of the advantages of this model is easy access to the camper area. Access to the rear area from the front seats is unobstructed, so moving from one zone to the other is very simple. The sliding side door has a step that makes entry easier and allows the rear section to be accessed and loaded more simply.

The driver will have in front of them a screen for the digital instrument cluster and a 13-inch screen for the infotainment system. This is run by the brand’s own system, the SYNC 4, which can be used both through the screen and through the voice assistant. Connectivity is provided through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so the smartphone becomes an important ally for the driver.

The van has a seating capacity of five people, since there is a row of three seats at the back. These can be folded down and offer a comfortable living and sleeping area. This row of seats can optionally be heated, so comfort is assured. The front seats can swivel to face the rear seats, so all passengers can share moments together.

This new version includes a shower with hot and cold water at the rear, with the option of a small tent for the rear area if you want a little more privacy. There is more storage space for keeping outdoor tables and chairs, the fabric of the pop-up roof has been replaced to improve how it folds, and folding blinds have been fitted instead of the curtains of previous versions.

The Ford Transit Nugget Camper Van also offers wireless charging and a 5G modem, which keep device batteries and connectivity always ready. To power these elements and others available, you can opt for a roof with solar panels, which can supply energy to all of them.
