The four-ring brand will present a fully electric Audi RS6 in 2024

The electric Audi RS6 could be developed on the PPE platform of the Volkswagen Group.

The four-ring brand will present a fully electric Audi RS6 during the coming year. The zero-emission estate will look similar to the Audi A6 e-tron Avant Concept but will not be a variant of the current model. The German carmaker will develop this new model on the PPE platform of the Volkswagen Group.

For the moment, the technical specifications are unknown, but Marc Lichte, Audi’s head of design, has said in several interviews that the new electric estate will follow in the footsteps of the current Audi RS6, a synonym of success. “I love the RS6 because I can carry bicycles, skis, and so on, which is why I love it.”

Everything we know about the electric Audi RS6

Likewise, the head of design at Audi has stated that he presented the designs of the future fully electric RS models to “1,000 managers of our group in Berlin” and they went “crazy,” in a positive sense. He has also pointed out that this electric estate is 90% complete, so only 10% remains before it can be unveiled and enter production.

The concept is very attractive, spacious and very sporty; it will also have a larger wheel diameter and a wider track. The new estate will feature a 100 kWh battery, which will allow it to offer an electric range of more than 700 kilometres on a single charge. In addition, the most powerful versions will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than four seconds.

It is worth noting that the four-ring brand will only produce fully electric models from 2026. This means it will gradually phase out production of its combustion-engine models starting in 2023. Building a fully electric RS6 makes sense, both for the German manufacturer and for its most loyal customers.

The last Audi with a combustion engine should be unveiled in 2025, as we can infer from some statements by the brand’s executives. As with other electric models in the range, Audi could offer a dual-motor or triple-motor configuration, depending on how the vehicle is positioned within the range and its performance. We will know more closer to the presentation date, but we do know that the RS 6 e-tron will be presented in 2024 and that Marc Lichte, Audi’s current head of design, is excited about it.
