The future Chrysler Sebring would be called Nassau

The Chrysler Sebring is one of the models that the American brand urgently needs to renew, according to Sergio Marchionne’s directives in the Fiat-Chrysler restructuring. One of the ways the Sebring, sold in Spain at a fairly competitive price, it must be said, could be renewed is by completely changing its shape and turning it into a saloon with much more rounded lines, as is the current trend. In this case, marketing also requires a new name, which is why the next generation of the Sebring would be called Nassau.

And this is not the first time Chrysler has used that name, since back in the distant fifties Chrysler reserved it for a higher-trim variant of one of its models. However, the current Nassau is closer in time, since at the 2007 Detroit show a concept called the Nassau Concept was presented, which could well be the basis of the new Sebring, although Chrysler denied there was any resemblance.

If Chrysler could assure us that the new Nassau will take at least something from the Nassau Concept, then I’ll dare say the brand is on the right track. And if so, Lancia would also take a similar line as its basis, since Marchionne announced at the time that Lancia and Chrysler would work hand in hand, sharing models for Europe and the USA respectively.
