The future Lexus RZ will be a high-performance electric SUV
The Lexus RZ is being revealed in these teaser images published by the brand itself. Here it is!

Lexus wanted to lift our spirits a little and has released some teaser images of its upcoming model, the Lexus RZ. This model will be a high-performance electric SUV positioned between the Lexus RC and the Lexus RX. This future Lexus RZ will be the first Lexus developed on the e-TNGA platform. This platform is already used by models such as the Toyota bZ4X and the Subaru Solterra.
What the teaser images reveal is that the new Lexus RZ will have a sharp nose and very slim LED light units. While it is true that this new high-performance electric SUV has its own design, the Lexus RZ features a line that runs from the front wheel arch, rises along the front door and fades out at the rear door.

Lexus RZ, everything you need to know about the new high-performance electric SUV
The doors are longer than those of the Toyota bZ4X, which could mean the cabin will be larger and offer users greater roominess, especially in the rear seats. At the back, the model’s taillights dominate, wrapping around the side panels and forming a thin continuous strip that extends along the rear of the car. The brand name can be read on that part.
For now, Lexus has not confirmed any mechanical details of its future SUV, but the Lexus LF-Z Electrified Concept featured an electric powertrain of 540 CV that delivered a 0 to 100 km/h time of around three seconds. The production car is very unlikely to be as quiet as it is powerful, but we expect it to have considerably more power than the Toyota bZ4X and the Subaru Solterra. These two models offer a motorisation producing 200 CV, and the dual-motor options offer around 220 CV.

Although Lexus has just presented the teaser images, we are eager for the Lexus RZ to reach dealerships before the end of next year, 2022. By then it could face rivals such as the Tesla Model Y, the Audi Q4 e-tron, the Genesis GV60 and even the very Mercedes-Benz EQC. We will have to wait a little longer to learn all the details of Lexus’s future high-performance electric SUV; for now, we will have to make do with the teaser images it has just published.
