The Galpin-Fisker Rocket Speedster makes its debut at Pebble Beach 2015

The time has come for the cars that have been prepared to be exhibited at the Concours d’Elegance Pebble Beach 2015 to come to light and surprise us with their spectacular shapes and performance. The car presented today is based on the Rocket, a model that was unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show. This, in turn, is based on the Ford Mustang GT, redesigned by the pen of Fisker and Galpin Auto Sport to make it even more spectacular.

The Rocket became a coupé version of the Mustang, keeping its four seats but increasing the engine’s performance, enlarging the V8 to 5 litres and reaching 735 CV of power. This represents 300 CV more power than the engine fitted as standard to the Mustang GT and a substantial improvement. The bodywork was made of carbon fibre to make it lighter and at the same time stronger.

At Pebble Beach 2015 what was presented is a version of the Rocket, for which work was done on the way to turn it into a convertible. The rear seats were removed and replaced by a cover that gives it personality and strength. At the front the grille has also been changed and aerodynamic elements added to accentuate the transformation.

Air intakes have been added to the bonnet, the front bumper and the sides, and among these elements the splitter, the diffuser and the spoiler stand out. The Galpin Fisker Rocket Speedster adds to all this 21-inch wheels fitted with Pirelli P-Zero tyres, which give it not only the image of a tough, powerful car but also the ability to be one.

The car also features Brembo brakes with 15-inch discs and an adjustable suspension system. The car is ready to go into production, although at very low volumes and with few units. What we do not yet know is the price of this car, although it will be higher than that of the four-seat model, which costs 109,000 dollars.
