The Geely E5 already has its equipment and price defined for Spain

As we previously mentioned, Geely Auto announced its intention to enter the Spanish market with its models, doing so from the outset with two models: on one hand, the Starray EM-i, a plug-in hybrid SUV, and on the other, the E5, another SUV but in this case fully electric. The latter is our protagonist today because its prices and equipment for Spain have already been announced.

For the E5, Geely’s goal was to create an SUV with a clean, modern and technological image, with balanced proportions and a silhouette designed to optimize airflow. Its bodywork has been revised at 24 key points to achieve a Cd drag coefficient of 0.269. It features design elements such as flush door handles and a stylish front LED light unit with a light beam reaching up to 177 meters, not to mention the rear LED light unit with laser engraving, which houses 274 LEDs arranged to create a distinctive light signature.

For the range of body colours available, Geely drew inspiration from something as delicate and beautiful as Chinese porcelain. The standard finish is Snow White, which can be replaced by other metallic colours such as Carbon Black, Aqua Green, Arctic Grey and Moonlight Silver.

Inside the E5, Geely has sought to make the most of the cabin to offer an spacious, bright and versatile experience for any use. This is thanks to the GEA architecture and the integration of Cell to Body technology, resulting in 1,001 mm of interior headroom in the rear seats and 1,005 mm of legroom for rear passengers, who can also recline their seatbacks by up to 35°. The front seats don’t compromise on comfort either, featuring a 5+1 layer cushion design, with heating, ventilation and massage functions available, as well as 180° reclining backrests. The boot offers 461 litres of capacity, expanding to 1,877 litres with the rear seats folded down, and can be accessed through the tailgate with electric opening and closing.

But let’s look at the equipment offered by the Geely E5 in Spain. The entry-level versions of the range will be the so-called PRO and PRO+ (the latter associated only with the larger-capacity battery), which include the following features as standard:

Regardless of finish, the Geely E5 has a single powertrain consisting of one electric motor generating up to 160 kW (218 CV) and 320 Nm of torque. Part of this electric system are the new-generation Short Blade Battery lithium-ion packs with LFP chemistry, with a capacity of 60.2 kWh (PRO) and 68.4 kWh (PRO+ and MAX+), offering a combined WLTP range of 430 km for the PRO finish, 475 km for the PRO+ finish and 455 km for the MAX+ finish.

These batteries allow charging with a maximum AC power of 11 kW and up to 135 kW on DC fast charging, allowing a recovery from 30% to 80% in about 20 minutes. It also features V2L (vehicle-to-load) and V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) functions, with a maximum output power of up to 6.6 kW.

According to the price list in Spain, the Geely E5 will cost €37,490 in the PRO finish, while the PRO+ finish starts at €39,990 and, finally, the MAX+ finish costs €41,990. That said, taking into account promotional campaigns and the Plan Auto+ scheme, as well as taxes, the Geely E5 has a launch price starting from €27,485.
